John Halligan showing a picture of his son

In 2003, John Halligan’s world changed forever when he lost his son, Ryan, to suicide. Ryan was only 13 years old. His death was the result of relentless bullying—both in the hallways of his school and across the early frontiers of the internet.

We were honored to welcome John Halligan to William Annin Middle School today to present to our student body. John doesn't just share a story of loss; he provides a powerful wake-up call about the "quiet" devastation of cyberbullying and the life-saving importance of being an upstander rather than a bystander.
