PEER LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The Peer Leadership Program is a service organization that affords students an opportunity to assist others in the school and the local community. We work on team building, leadership skills, and character development while having lots of FUN! Students meet 3 times a month to work on various projects and activities throughout the year supporting school Character Education goals. This program has the potential to be challenging, personally satisfying, and exciting. The Peer Leader Program is a program to which we invite those students who are interested in demonstrating the school values, promoting positive behavior in school, as well as being involved in the community (meaning Annin and Basking Ridge) service-related projects.

Some of the activities include but are not limited to: the 6th grade Family Fun night in October, fifth grade parent evening orientation in March, student tours of Annin for fifth graders in May and new students to the district in August. Throughout the year we are usually involved in planning and coordinating a holiday gift giving program for those less fortunate, a canned food drive, visitations to the elementary schools with the sixth-grade counselors to acquaint fifth graders with the middle school program, and collecting toiletries for battered women. In addition, the students will be involved in one or more school/grade wide programs that foster acceptance, tolerance, and anti-bullying. Please visit the Advisors websites below for more information and an application.

We have many events, fundraisers and activities planned throughout the year. Meetings will be held in the media center on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.

Student  Staff Members
The yearbook staff consists of 20 staff members. Three co-editors are chosen to assist the staff with some if not all of the tasks listed below: taking pictures, selecting layouts, writing captions, proofreading names, adding clip art, creating collages, and monitoring staff progress at meetings.

Being responsible, cooperative, committed and hard-working are just a few of the attributes that the staff must provide in order to ensure the production and success of the yearbook publication.

The yearbook contains pages of student pictures, captions, clip art and memorable moments. Each staff member is assigned to work on a specific section of the book and is given a deadline upon which to complete his/her assignment.
